SYMPOSIUM SUPPORTERS
1. The Xth International Symposium on Small Bowel
Transplantation (ISSBT) is held every other year either in
Europe or North American at a host transplant center
competitively selected by the prior symposium attendees. This
symposium serves as the major forum for exchange of scientific
information on the fields of intestinal transplantation,
intestinal failure, intestinal rehabilitation, as well as
associated fields of nutrition, immunosuppression,
immunomodulation, infection, parenteral nutrition.
2. The Presymposium date is September 5th, 2007.
3. The Symposium date is September 6th-8th, 2007.
4. The Symposium location is the Fairmont-Miramar Hotel in Santa
Monica, California, USA.
5. The host transplant center is the Dumont-UCLA Transplant
Center at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University
of California, Los Angeles.
6. The Continuing Medical Education Department within the David
Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA serves as the symposium
organizer.
7. Attendees for the symposium comprise health care
professionals who are involved in the care of patients with
these disorders. These professionals include transplant
physicians and surgeons who most commonly consist of the same
teams caring for other transplant candidate/recipients such as
liver, pancreas, and kidney. These professionals include both
adult and pediatric specialist, physicians with expertise in
gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition, and surgeons with
expertise in pediatric and adult surgery as well as
transplantation. In addition, attendance is expected from
physicians in all fields of training including students,
residents, and fellows. Each year, there is also a group of
allied health care professionals such as nurses, transplant
coordinators, dieticians, nutritionist, physical therapist, and
occupational therapist.
8. Expected total attendance is 250-350 professionals.
9. Financial support is only being solicited from
pharmaceutical, biotechnical, and nutritional companies whose
products are routinely used in this type of transplantation or
whose products offer promise for improving outcomes in this
group of patients.
10. Levels of support are requested as follows but, of course,
all donations of any amount are welcome:
a. Platinum: >$50,000.00 USD
b. Gold: $25,000.00 and <$50,000.00 USD
c. Silver: $10,000.00 and <$25,000.00 USD
d. Bronze: $5000.00 and <$10,000.00 USD
11. All supporters and educational grants will be acknowledged:
a. On the web site
b. In the abstract/program booklet
c. In the meeting spaces
12. Supporters will be eligible to attend the meeting and
opportunity for interaction with attendees will be provided a.
Sponsors at or over $10,000 will receive an exhibit table
and 3 free registrations
b. Sponsors at levels between $5000 - $9999 will receive an
exhibit table and 2 free registrations
c. Sponsors at levels between $3000 - $4999 will receive an
exhibit table and 1 free registration
d. All other level sponsors and those requiring more
registrations than allotted, may register under the registration
fee outlined:
i. Early Bird Registration prior to 7/1/07: $375.00 USD
ii. Full Registration from 7/1/07 to 9/1/07: $450.00 USD
iii. On Site Registration after 9/1/07: $550.00 USD
13. All symposium support must meet all applicable rules and
regulations governing such activities and strict compliance is
required.
EXHIBITORS
1. Exhibit tables can be set up starting at 8am PST on September
5th, 2007.
2. Exhibit tables must be removed by 3pm PST on September 8th,
2007.
3. The exhibit table location is in a large room central to the
meeting where coffee breaks, lunch, and breakfast will be
offered in an effort to maximize exposure of the Supporter
product and personnel with symposium attendees.
4. Location of the exhibit tables will be allotted based on the
level of sponsorship with first choice starting with the highest
level sponsor. In the event of equal dollar amounts of
Educational grant , the Supporter with the earlier donation will
have precedent. Display booth opportunity is limited even in the
large meeting spaces chosen for this Symposium.
5. All personnel must register for the meeting. For further
